The “Beginning” of My Blog

The “Beginning” of My Blog

I explained to my Ladies Link With God group that I had been trying to understand what it was exactly that God had planned for me.  I knew that whatever it was, God had already gone ahead of me and worked out all the details; and that it would Glorify His Name and leave His Mark so that people would see and know:  This was God, My Father!  It was Jesus, My Savior!  My Helper and Comforter, the Holy Spirit!  The Great “I  AM”!

In hind sight, this has been pulling at me for quit some time!  I am really not sure just how long?  Was it the study of building the sanctuary in the wilderness, and how exciting I found every detail God gave to the children of Israel (Exodus 25 – 30!  Or, how exciting it was to see it all come together and finally when  the cloud and glory of the LORD covered the tabernacle of meeting! (Exodus 35 – 40) I hope you will make a note to read it again and enjoy every detail!

Perhaps the itching to share the excitement I found in God’s Word came through the Beth Moore study of Psalms of Ascents (Psalms 120 – 134) where I found the commitment of the Jewish people to honor God’s chosen times for the holy feasts: The Passover, The Pentecost, and The Festival of Booths.

Or maybe it was reading the Bible in chronological order and finding even more interest in the entire Bible as His Word! I loved studying Esther “for such a time as this”! (Esther 4:14)   Ruth was of the idolatrous Moabites, yet she is in the family tree of Jesus! (Matthew 1:5) James was a half-brother of Jesus, yet he didn’t believe Jesus was the Messiah ( John 7: 5) until he witnessed Him after His resurrection! (1 Corinthians 15:7)   And the book of Jude sounds like it could have been written today to warn us all to be on guard, stand firm and don’t waver from God’s Word! (Jude 20-23)   Jude was also a half-brother to Jesus!  Isn’t the Bible just full of surprises and wonderful News!!

It just amazes me how the entire Bible fits together from Genesis, “the Beginning” to Revelation,  “the Ending”! It is not two Testaments, or sixty-six books; it is all one story! God’s Story!  His Plan, the complete plan; written by more than 40 authors from all walks of life over a period of 1500 years!! HE is the ultimate author; the only One that could have known how it is all going to turn out!

How amazing! How awesome! Yet, so easily forgotten! Not only by the Hebrew nation who witnessed God in action in Egypt and 40 years in the wilderness; but also by people today who have the opportunity to hold in their hands the complete story, but forget it in their heart and in their everyday life!!  Be blessed today and read your Bible!
